THERMOCON Slim Line

Compact design. Built for long journeys.

VIP & PCM technology

Vacuum insulation with thin walls and suitable PCM coolant elements help maintain the required temperature.

Four temperature configurations

Cold, CRT, Frozen with PCM or dry ice: choose the configuration that suits your shipment.

A consistent packing process

A universal packout for each PCM temperature range simplifies conditioning and packing throughout the year.

Construction & materials

Three components. One coordinated system.

01 · Vacuum insulation

VIP panels provide thermal insulation with a low panel thickness.

02 · Suitable coolants

PCM coolant elements are selected for Cold, CRT or Frozen applications. The dry ice version has its own packout.

03 · Robust outer box

The corrugated plastic outer box protects the system during handling and repeated use.

Temperature configurations

One box. Four applications.

Choose between Cold (+2 to +8 °C), CRT (+15 to +25 °C), Frozen with PCM and dry ice / Deep Frozen. The appropriate configuration depends on the temperature range required for your shipment.

The dry ice configuration is supplied as an empty box without coolant elements. Dry ice is not included.

Thermal performance

Tested under demanding temperature profiles.

Slim Line has been pre-qualified in climate chambers using summer and winter profiles in accordance with ISTA 7D. The tests were carried out with an empty payload space.

The achievable hold time depends on the size, temperature configuration and test conditions. Compare the values listed in the product overview.

Universal Packout

One packing process. Summer and winter.

For each PCM temperature range, the same coolant elements and pre-conditioning procedure are used in summer and winter.

This consistent procedure reduces seasonal changes and supports standardised packing processes. The dry ice configuration is packed separately.

Everyday reuse

Designed for repeated handling.

The robust corrugated plastic outer box and protected VIP panels support repeated use throughout the transport cycle.

The protective layers of the vacuum insulation panels help absorb mechanical stresses during packing and handling.

Documented climate chamber tests

Pre-qualification using ISTA 7D summer and winter profiles

Slim Line was tested in climate chambers with simulated external temperatures in accordance with ISTA 7D. The tests were carried out with an empty payload space. The following illustration is based on the documented test of Slim Line 36 in the +2 to +8 °C configuration.

01

Year-round configuration

For each PCM temperature range, the same coolant elements and pre-conditioning procedure are used for summer and winter profiles. This universal packout avoids seasonal changes to the configuration.

02

Measurement approach

Sensors are positioned at different points along a diagonal through the payload space to record the temperature distribution and document any differences.

03

Empty payload

The tests were carried out with an empty payload space. This is a particularly demanding thermal configuration, as there is no additional product mass to help stabilise the temperature.

Graphical presentation of the THERMOCON Slim Line 36 climate chamber test ISTA 7D summer profile over 152 hours with four measurement points in the payload space. The target range is between two and eight degrees Celsius. The maximum values are 8.0 degrees at S0.1, 8.6 degrees at S0.2, 10.0 degrees at S0.3 and 9.4 degrees at S0.4.
