What must the packaging achieve?
- In hot surroundings, limit heat ingress and prevent warming above the specified upper limit.
- In cold surroundings, limit heat loss so that the lower limit is also maintained.
- Demonstrably meet the requirement for the necessary duration, defined payload and selected ambient temperature profile.
Are brief excursions permitted?
The range alone does not imply any tolerance. Possible excursions must be assessed for the specific product under the prescribed quality procedure. The range is often used in connection with CRT, but is not its universal definition. A PCM melting point within the range does not by itself guarantee a suitable product temperature either.
