Pallet Shipper
A pallet shipper is a temperature-controlled shipping system for larger palletised loads. Passive versions combine insulation with preconditioned cooling elements or another suitable cooling medium. Active systems have powered temperature control. The specific system design determines its application range.
Which specifications matter for a pallet?
- Pallet format, external dimensions and total weight must suit the transport chain. A pallet shipper is not automatically an air freight ULD.
- The usable volume describes the available product space; insulation and cooling components require additional room.
- Payload, coolant pack loading and assembly affect temperature distribution and protection duration. A central measurement point alone does not necessarily represent the entire load unit.
How does it differ from a thermal cover?
A specified pallet system is considered as a complete configuration. A thermal cover is primarily a covering whose effectiveness must be assessed separately. For both, temperature range and duration are only meaningful alongside the tested conditions.
