THERMOCON Premium Box: your questions answered
Find answers to common questions about the system components, shipping durations, pre-qualification and reuse.
The Premium Box is a pre-qualified reusable thermal case. The Premium 12 combines a robust outer case with EPP, vacuum insulation panels and PCM coolant packs selected for the required temperature range.
Published configurations cover +15 to +25 °C, +2 to +8 °C and frozen shipments below −15 °C. The stated minimum durations range from three to five days, depending on the temperature range.
No. The durations apply to the specified Premium 12 configuration and the relevant test profile. For your application, factors such as payload, route, handling and acceptance criteria need to be assessed.
Pre-qualification covers the specified combination of case, insulation, PCM coolant packs, conditioning and packout under defined test conditions. It provides a documented basis for assessing the system for your application.
According to the published product information, the Premium 12 is designed for use without partially thawing the coolant packs. Follow the specified conditioning procedure and packing instructions for the selected temperature range.
According to the manufacturer, the components are easy to clean and can be disinfected. For repeated use, we recommend a defined procedure for cleaning, inspection, release for reuse and return logistics.
This mainly depends on the number of use cycles, the return rate, cleaning and inspection costs, replacement parts and the cost of single-use packaging avoided. Assess the costs and savings for your actual shipping network.
