THERMOCON has expanded its digital product selection tools. Three product finders help you narrow down pre-qualified shipping systems, insulated boxes and cooling elements. The best starting point depends on whether you need a complete packaging solution or individual components for an existing shipping process.

Choose a complete shipping system

Do you already know the required temperature range and planned transit time? The pre-qualified systems finder lets you narrow your options by criteria including temperature range, duration, cooling medium and single-use or reusable operation. The overview compares product variants with their payload volume, transport type and specified packout.

Find pre-qualified systems

Find an insulated box by size and volume

If your first step is selecting the insulated packaging, use the insulated box finder. Compare internal volume, internal and external dimensions and wall thicknesses, then refine your selection with the available filters. When choosing a size, allow space for cooling elements and any protective material as well as the payload.

Select cooling elements for your packaging concept

The cooling element finder helps you select by format, melting point, cooling medium and single-use or reusable operation. Product data also includes weight and dimensions. A cooling element’s melting point is not the same as the temperature range that the complete shipping system must maintain.

An example of how to build a shortlist

Suppose you are planning a shipment at +2 to +8 °C with a transit time of 72 hours. Start with temperature range and duration in the pre-qualified systems finder. Then check the individual variants for sufficient payload volume and the specified packout. Nominal transit time alone is not enough: potential delays, pre-conditioning and the expected ambient temperature profile also need to be discussed.

From a shortlist to a suitable solution

The finders provide a starting point for technical advice. An insulated box or cooling element on its own does not establish temperature performance for a specific shipment. Performance depends on how packaging, coolants, packout and operating conditions work together. Have your temperature range, transit time, payload and dimensions ready when making an enquiry so that you can discuss your shortlist with THERMOCON.
